Hello, this is Murphy!
We already mentioned that Murphy has visited
to Halifax!
Also, Murphy visited the Oxford
International College Halifax, which is a popular and sensational college in
Nova Scotia.
The OICC campus we visited will be moving to another location before November,
so it’s best to get a feel for the
college’s vibe now.
The new campus will be more accessible, and it’s designed to provide a better environment for students to focus on their academics.
We will inform you of the new location once it is finalized!
So, are you ready for an online tour of the
OICC campus?
Currently, OICC is located on Barrington St. in downtown.
While it's a bit away from the city center, it’s only a 10-minute walk to nearby shops and parks.
This provides a quiet atmosphere for
studying, while after class, you can enjoy strolling through downtown and
experiencing Halifax.
Now, we are heading to the college!
OICC’s Halifax campus offers language courses, Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) programs,
and Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs.
When students arrive at the college and pass the reception, which provides information about school life,
they will find
classrooms, cozy places to relax, and cafeterias to enjoy time with classmates.
When Murphy visited OICC, the students in the English courses were studying hard,
and the teachers were gentle and
enthusiastic, which left a strong impression on Murphy!
On the opposite side of the classroom where the language classes are held,
there are major classrooms for studying ECE and
CCA theory classes.
In the classroom, general theory classes
and basic practical exercises with equipment are conducted.
Learning professional courses with friends
from various countries while sharing their backgrounds and experiences is such
an attractive aspect!
In the case of the ECE program, both theory classes and simple practical exercises are learned in the classroom.
Maybe
that's why the classroom feels so cute and has the vibe of a miniature daycare center, it was lovely as soon as I walked in!
In contrast, the focus in the CCA
classrooms was on theory lectures.
And, behind the main building of OICC,
there was a secret door leading up to the second floor!
Ta-da! Hidden on the
second floor was the Skill Lab classroom!
It was decorated like a facility with
medical equipment and actual patients, so Murphy also felt a bit solemn for
some reason?!!
When Murphy first visited the practice room, the students were concentrating on the practice class.
There were several practice mannequins formed similar to actual patients, so there was no problem at all for every student to practice.
Also, the other side was like an actual hospital room and the other side was like a nursing home,
so it was great that
these practice room looked like actual hospital and seemed like a great help to
adapt once getting a job!
Most of all, students and teachers have big smiles on their faces, and we can see their passion,
which shows that the school has a good curriculum and supports everything for the students.
In addition to this, the school has a computer lab where students can take the IELTS exam
or handle simple administrative tasks on computers.
There's also a counseling room available for help whenever needed.
Above all, the reception area has staff from various
nationalities who are eager to assist students, always ready and listening...
Studying abroad shouldn't be difficult at
all!
