The college and the specific program we
are about to introduce is currently the quickest and most reliable way to
obtain Canada Permanent Residency after studying in Canada. Here is the OICC’s
CCA (Continuing Care Assistant) program, a guide to the approximately two-year
journey leading to employment and permanent residency.
Now first of all, what is OICC?
To understand the OICC, we should know about how the private college has a great foundation.
Many private colleges are facing difficulties with financial
issue due to the pandemic and many of them had to close down.
The academic curriculum, the college's practical training facilities, and the local employment connection power... in fact, must be supported by the college's financial resources.
In a time when everyone is taking a
cautious action due to the pandemic, OICC acquired CLLC and ECLC, which are
two major language schools, and established a college called Oxford
International Career College.
It is reasonable to assume that there is no
problem with their financial strength.
Other than the financial strength, there is one more thing to go over, which is ‘History’.
Can the reader feel Murphy's inner strength, which is clearly not something that was created overnight, right?
Time itself becomes history and has power.
Oxford International Career College,
established in 1991, has been in the global education industry for over 30
years, offering a range of programs for students to achieve their dreams and
grow their careers.
As it is shown in the name itself, OICC
origins from the UK/England but owns various campuses in the USA, Canada and Australia,
providing excellent curriculum around the English-speaking countries.
OICC operates various programs mainly
focusing on Vocational Education and Language programs for local and
international students on each campus.
OICC has two campuses within Canada in
Vancouver (BC) and Halifax (NS). (Only language programs are available in
Toronto.)
Both cities are famous with local and
international students and are among the safest and most adaptable cities for
extracurricular activities and everyday life outside college.
OICC’s Vancouver campus is located in
downtown Vancouver, making it a great place to study and enjoy Canadian
culture.
OICC Vancouver Campus offers Business
Management and Hospitality Management programs along with language courses.
By providing programs adjusted to the
characteristics of the city, the campus offers to those who want to effectively
upgrade their business mindset or gain professional knowledge in a short period
of time.
Both programs are Diploma courses and with the option with co-op and non-co-op.
Program with co-op course will be up to 96
weeks, 48 weeks of in-class study and 48 weeks of work practicum. With the
non-co-op course there will be 48 weeks of in-class study to obtain the
diploma.
The Halifax campus is located in east of Canada.
It is close to the US with warm and mile weather conditions, and recently it has been the most rising location for many international students.
OICC Halifax Campus offers Continuing Care Assistant and Early Childhood Education programs.
Now we would like to introduce the most
uprising programs in OICC, which would be Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) and Early
Childhood Education (ECE).
Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) is the most
spotlighted field as a route from employment to permanent residency due to high
demand due to the aging population.
As of 2023, 1,590 related job availabilities
were confirmed.
It is a program that is systematically
operated under the management of the provincial government, step by step, from
the number of college attending students to the number of graduates to the job
market.
The Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) in OICC is composed to train the professional caregiver/continuing care assistant, so they are able to be put into practice soon.
It is a certificate course with 40 weeks of studying and the tuition fee is CAD$ 21,000.
In order to apply for the OICC, potential students’
needs to meet the following requirements.
International Grade 12 Diploma/Certificate
or over
Language Requirements: IELTS academic
6.0/CELPIP 8/TOEFL 78/PTE 55/ELLT (Overall) 6/ UCP level over 400.
Interestingly, there is age limit for
applying for this program and the availability of for age is from 19 to 53.
Should the potential student does not have
an English test result, student can enroll through the pathway at the Oxford
College language institute. Those who have the language skills but do not have
an official language score for admission can meet the language requirement
through Oxford College's own level test.
Once all the admission requirements are met, students will be requested for an interview.
The purpose of the interview is because the CCA’s main role is to communicate smoothly with the client (future patient).
The main strength of the OICC is that all
the Continuing Care Assistant course is that every class provides in-person
class. This makes it easy for the students to form a relationship with the
faculties and by combining in-person class and practice, students can experience
maximum utility that cannot be obtained from online classes. During the
studies, students will obtain qualifications for practical work while studying, and the college
will do everything to provide all kinds of support for students.
Actually, the biggest support which OICC
gives is the ‘Employment Guarantee’.
OICC confidently said that they would fully
refund the tuition fee if the students cannot find the job, which may seem like
a reckless attempt from others point of view. However, from Murphy’s
perspective, with a business mind, don’t believe this is a reckless attempt.
Considering the number of professional CCA training institutions in Nova Scotia,
graduate students and the supply of nursing home, the idea of full refund is
actually a smart tactic coming from confident data analysis.
As of 2024, the semester opens every other month in March, May, July, September and November.
As of now, it is safe to apply for November semester.
Next is the Early Childhood Education (ECE).
A lot of people who wish to study abroad consider studying ECE program, so many of the readers might be familiar with the program.
Especially in Nova Scotia, ECE is considered as in-demand job so it is easy to link it to permanent residency.
ECE program in OICC, as mentioned previously,
includes not only the basic ECE-related courses, but also safety and
well-being, and other areas that children need beyond education.
OICC ECE program is 50 weeks course, and
the tuition fee is CAD$ 21,000.
For the admission requirements;
International Grade 12 Diploma/Certificate
or over
Language Requirements: IELTS academic
6.0/CLBPT 7/TOEFL 78/ELLT (Overall) 6/ UCP level over 400.
This program also has age limit for
applying and the availability of for age is from 19 to 53.
Additionally, there will be a Pre-Screening
interview and it is also similar to the CCA program. As the Early Childhood
Educator requires high communication skills as well, the admission team will
mainly focus on communication skills rather than language skills.
Also, as a mandatory requirement, 2
recommendation letters are required as well. This must be given by the relevant
institution with children. Please contact us for thorough consultation with
Murphy.
If there is no English test result, pathway
can be arranged with the Oxford College language institute or can meet the
requirement through Oxford College's own level test.
The ECE program is also formed with both
in-person class and practicum for 50 weeks. In-person class and practicum will take
turns so the students will have 4 opportunities for work practicum. Once the
student completes the course, they will receive a Diploma (equivalent to 2
years course) and there are no vacations or semester break between 50 weeks.
Students will receive Level 2 ECE Classification upon completion of program and as OICC is a private college, the opening semester varies. Upon 2024,
October and December semester is available at the moment so any potential
students could aim for October admission for quickest entrance.
We sincerely hope the information above was
helpful.
It has been confirmed that the Oxford
Foundation is an educational foundation that provides an excellent curriculum
with a long history and reputation.
Now, going one step further, equipping with
the most reliable weapon by studying (40/50 weeks) and permanent residency (approximately
1 year), we are ready to meet our potential students.
For further information and consulting
please do not hesitate to contact us and we do hope that everyone will grab
this opportunity.
