최신시설과 다양한 프로그램을 자랑하는<br> Archbishop Hoban High School
 One Holy Cross boulevard Akron Ohio 44306 http://www.hoban.org  미국 오하이오주의 북동부에 있는 도시로 인구는 21만 규모의 도시입니다. 1825년 시작된 이 도시의 이름은 ‘높은 곳’이라는 뜻의 그리스어 ‘akros’ 에서 유래되었습니다. 교육·문화시설 등이 잘 갖추어져 있으며 애크런대학교가 있습니다. 동 애크런에 위치한 Archbishop Hoban High School은 1953년도에 남학교로 시작해 1973년도에 남녀공학이 되었습니다. 이 학교 총 학생수는 680명 정도이며 교사 대 학생 비율은 1:14.7 입니다. 아직 재학중인 한국학생은 없으며 2006년도 9월 학기부터 국제학생을 받고 있습니다. 이 학교 교사는 총 56명이며 평균 교사 경력이 11년이 넘으며 이중 35명의 교사가 Master’s Degree 를 소지하고 있습니다. 학비는 2006-2007년 기준으로 $6,975 이며 최근에 학교 리노베이션으로 학생들이 더 쾌적한 환경에서 공부할 수 있게 되었습니다.  도서관은 학생, 교직원, 교사 모두를 위해 개방되어 있으며 오전 7세 30분부터 오수 4시 30분까지 이용이 가능하며 필요한 자료는 복사도 가능합니다. 참고도서를 포함해 총 만 권의 책이 소장되어 있으며 도서관에 배치되어 있는 컴퓨터를 사용해서 인터넷을 이용할 수 있습니다. 이 학교에서 제공하는 Honors / Advanced Placement(AP) 프로그램은 Algebra II, Chemistry, English 10, American Literature, English II, World Literature, French II, III, IV, V, Physics, Pre-calculus with Trigonometry, Spanish II, III, Iv, V, World cultures의 Honor 과정과 Biology, Calculus AB, Chemistry, English Literature & Composition, French, Spanish, Statistics, Studio Art, US History 의 AP 과정이 있습니다. 뿐만 아니라 학교에서는 대학 학점을 미리 수강할 수 있는 College Prep 프로그램이 있는데 이 프로그램을 듣기 위해서는 아래 조건을 이수해야 합니다. 영어 4 학점, 수학 3학점(1 unit of algebra and 1 unit of geometry), 과학 3학점(2 units from among biology, chemistry and physics), 사회 3학점(2 units of history and ½ unit of civics or government), 제2외국어 3학점(한제2외국어에서 3학점 혹은 두개의 각 외국어에서 각 2학점 이상씩) Business Computer Science, Visual or Performing Arts 중 하나의 과목에서 2학점을 이수해야 합니다.
