준간호사 PN-Bow Valley College
캐나다는 한국과 간호체계가 다릅니다. 정식간호사와 간호조무사로 구분되어 있는 한국과 달리, 간호사 - 준간호사 - 간호보조로 구분되어집니다.
간호사는 보통 4년제 과정을 이수하고 간호와 관련된 모든 업무를 수행할수 있으며, 준간호사는 2년제 디플로마 과정을 이수하며 간호사와 달리 정맥주사를 놓지 못한다는 영역의 제한이 있습니다. 그러나 준간호사라 하더라도 대부분의 간호 업무를 수행할수 있으며 병원외에 각종 복지시설등에도 취업이 가능합니다. 준간호사의 업무영역은 한국 간호사와 큰 차이가 없으며, 간호조무사와는 확연히 다른 직종이므로 명확히 구분지어 생각하셔야 합니다.

학과소개
Bow Valley 의 Practical Nurse Diploma 프로그램과 Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam을 통과하게 되면, College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta 를 취득할수 있습니다. 본 과정은 캠퍼스 내의 실습과, 이론교육 그리고 현장 경험으로 구성됩니다. PN 과정은 월요일부터 금요일까지 아침 8시까지 오후 8시까지 구성되어 있으며, 낮시간, 저녁시간, 밤시간, 주말등 구분되어 집니다.
이 학과는 매우 인기 있는 학과이므로, 적오도 1년 전에는 입학신청을 해야 합니다.
본 과정에 등록된 모든 학생들은 Test Of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES) 라는 시험을 치르게 되는데, 이시험은 다음의 9가지 항목에 대한 평가를 받게 되는 테스트입니다.

-Credit in Math 20-1 or a minimum final mark of 60% in Math 20-2 or equivalent
-Minimum final mark of 60% in Biology 30 or 60% in Anatomy and Physiology (ANPH150)† at Bow Valley College or equivalent

③ 사전 프로그램 요건
프로그램 시작 2주전에 Police Information Check 를 받아야 합니다. 이때 범죄기록이 있다면 임상이나 라이선스 취득에 문제가 될 수도 있습니다. PCI 는 6개월에 한번씩 업데이트해서 제출해야 합니다. 알버타주에 정착한지 6개월이 안된 학생의 경우라면 알버타주 이전에 거주하던 주에서 PCI 를 받아야 합니다.
④ 사전 임상 요건
임상시작전 다음의 요건에 부합하지 않는 학생들은 임상경험에 참가하는 것이 허락되지 않습니다.
-CPR Healthcare Provider Level Certificate 가 매년마다 업데이트 되어야 합니다.
-프로그램 전에 자세한 예방접종관련 자료를 제공받게 될것입니다. 만약 프로그램이 승인되면예약후 방문해서 예방접종을 받게 됩니다.
