1. 비지니스 계의 새로운 학과

비지니스 학과 라고 하면 accounting, marketing 쪽을 많이 생각하는데요, 사실 비지니스도 굉장히 세분화 되어있는 학과입니다. 보통은 Business Administration 에서 대부분의 과정을 배우기는 하지만 그 중 특화된 과정을 제공하는 곳이 팬쇼 컬리지 입니다.

우리 나라로 치면 구매 혹은 물류 유통 쪽이라고 할 수 있는데요, 생산하는 제품이 세분화 되어 질수록 각각에 맞는 전략이 필요하기 때문에 구매 분야나 물류 유통 분야가 각광을 받고 있습니다. 또한 구매 및 유통은 하나로 떼어내기 어려운 부분이므로 두 학과는 공통의 커리큘럼을 공유합니다.

2. 사회복지학, 유아교육 둘다 원하지 않을때는

가장 무난히 선택할수 있었던 유아교육과와 우리나라 문과생들이 많이 선택했던 사회복지학과 외에 고려할 만한 학과가 있습니다. 연령대가 기존의 유아교육보다 높거나, 상담하는 대상이 좀더 특정되어 있는 학과 들 입니다.

Child and Youth Care VS Developmental Services Worker

Child and Yourh Care 프로그램은 청소년기 학생들의 감정적, 행동적, 사회적 혹은 정신학적 감정과 치료요법을 제공하며 이론과 실습이 병행되는 수업입니다. 이 학과는 매우 인기가 높은 학과여서 런던 캠퍼스의 경우 제공되는 자리가 적습니다. 입학신청을 약 1년전부터 해놓아야 합니다.

Developmental Services Worker 프로그램은 발달적 장애나 어려움을 가진 이들이 사회나 커뮤니티에 적을 할 수 있도록 하는 과정입니다. 따라서 이 분야에 종사하는 사람에게는 내담자 본인 뿐만아니라 그의 가족들, 그가 속한 사회, 커뮤니티 등과의 협업또한 중요합니다. 이 프로그램에서 가장 중요한 파트 중의 하나는 바로 실제 기관으로 실습을 나가는 Field placement 입니다.

기타	입학요건이 부족한 경우 팬쇼컬리지의 Human Services Foundation 과정을 이수할 수 있으나 Child and Youth 과정은 별도로 입학신청 해야 한다. Human Services Foundation 에 수강중인 겨우, 2015년 4월 30일 (2015년 9월학기 입학기준) 까지 GPA 2.0 의 성적을 제출해야 한다.	상담분야의 특수성으로 인하여 관련분야에 경험이 충분한 경우 지원하는 것이 좋으며 특히 봉사활동은 입학에 중요한 요소이다. 실습이 주가 되는 수업이므로 개인 교통비 등이 필요하며 실습 기관에 따라 근무시간이 다를 수 있다.
Field Placement	실습은 이 학과의 매우 중요한 부분중의 하나이며 입학이 허가되면 Standard First Aid certificate 과 Basic Rescuer certificate 을 제출한다. 건강검진 기록표 및 범죄조회회보서를 필수로 제출한다.

한국에서 이미 관련 학과를 졸업 하여 경력이 많은 분들은 Fast track 혹은 Accelerated 과정을 지원할 수 있습니다. Child and Youth Care (Fast track) 은 연속16개월 수업이며 Developmental Services Worker (Fast track) 은 10개월, Developmentat Services Worker (Accelerated) 는 12개월 과정을 제공합니다.

3. 영어는 자신있는데 기술은 배우기 싫다면

Law Clerk (Co-op) VS Paralegal

법률 사무원 혹은 법률 보조원 과정입니다. 캐나다 내 법이나 규정에 관해 정확한 해석과 적용이 필요하므로 뛰어난 영어실력, 특히 읽기과 쓰기, 이 필요하며 이 외 키보딩 실력과 여러 단체 및 개인들과의 의견 교류를 위한 커뮤니케이션 능력 또한 필요합니다.

팬쇼 컬리지의 Law Clerk 과정은 탄탄한 이론수업과 실제 법률 기관에서 실습을 통하여 졸업 후에 학생들이 다양한 법조 기관, 금융기관, 보험 회사 등 법무가 필요한 모든 곳에서 능력을 펼칠 수 있도록 합니다.

팬쇼 컬리지의 Paralegal 은 특히 온타리오 주에서 법률 보조원으로 근무하고자 하는 학생들을 위한 과정이며 라이센스를 취득하거나 경력을 업그레이드 하고자 하는 경력자들에게 추천합니다. 이 과정은 실제 법률 기관에서 120시간의 실습을 제공합니다.

기타	-졸업생들은 Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario 의 교육 조건을 충족하며 Associate level membership 을 위한 시험을 볼 수 있다. -영어 실력과는 별개로 학생들은 높은 책임감과 양심을 갖고 있어야 하며 별도의 suprvision 없이도 주도적으로 일을 할 수 있어야 한다.	-2007년 5월 1일을 기점으로 모든 법률 보조원은 Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUS) 에서 자격증을 받아야 한다. 팬쇼 컬리지의 Paralegal 프로그램은 이 LSUS 의 인증을 받아 졸업생들은 자격증 시험을 볼 수 있다. Law Cleark 과 동일하게 책임감을 갖고 및 양심적으로 결정할 수 있어야 하며 분석 능력이 필요하다. 또한 키보딩 능력이 아주 중요한데 1분에 40개의 단어를 타이핑 할 수 있어야 한다.
